Thank you to all of you for your patience and endurance through the application process the year!   
 
There has been some confusion pertaining to the 2011 Application you all should have completed by now. 

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE COMPLETED THE INSTRUCTIONS FROM DECEMBER BEFORE PROCEEDING.

APPLICATION UPDATE:

Check THIS DOCUMENT for your name. If your name is not on this list, you have not yet successfully applied to teach/session direct for EFY in 2011.

If you have been unable to complete this application yet, please email deeaura.thompson@byu.edu and let us know what issue you are encountering.  We will work through them as quickly as we can and get back to you as soon as possible.  If you have already emailed us with an application issue, please know we are continuing to work on those issues.  If you have not heard back from us within a week, feel free to call or email again. 

If your name is on the list, and you have been able to complete your application, you should have listed your availability weeks and preferences of WHERE you would like to work.  This application information should have been for TEACHING AND DIRECTING.  With that being said, if you need to update those dates or places, please do the following:

HOW TO UPDATE YOUR AVAILABILITY WITHIN YOUR APPLICATION:

• Please do not sent it to us in an email. We cannot do this portion for you.
• Log in to your Route Y account, just as you did with the initial application.
• Click on APPLICANT HOME. (If you have forgotten how to get to Applicant Home, pages 1-3 of the Application Instructions from December will help you navigate there.)
• Then click on WORK AVAILABILITY to update the weeks you are available.
• Click on MY APPLICATION ESSAYS to update the places you would like to work this summer.

 TEACHER TALKS UPDATE:

As a final item of business, if you would like to submit a new talk outline for this year, please do so as soon as possible.  It does have to go through an approval process once we receive it that can take anywhere from 3-6 weeks. 

The very last date we can accept a new talk outline will be March 31, 2011.

If you have trouble logging in to your teacher account or cannot remember how to get there, please go HERE.

• When referencing a quote, you need to include the first line of the quote (“Truly, the Lord desires that His people be a temple-motivated people…”) and the complete reference (President Howard W. Hunter, Ensign, Oct. 1994, “A Temple-Motivated People), otherwise, you may not use the quote. When referencing someone please write out their full name (don′t write Pres. Hinckley said... Please type President Gordon B. Hinckley said...).

• Never abbreviate… ANYTHING.  Even though we all know that JS probably mean Joseph Smith, it could also mean Jelly Sandwich and correlation asks that we do not include abbreviations.

• Correlation has frequently told us that many of our talks need to be longer.  As a general rule of thumb make sure that your talk in a word document is roughly 2/3rds of a page long single spaced.  They can be slightly longer than this, but they will no longer approve talks 1/2 page or shorter.
